Fall 2008 Mixed Cricket

I heard a rumor there was to be a vote on whether or not to split the mixed cricket league into divisions. Is this true? If so, who are the lucky darters who get to vote? It certainly wasn't captains…must just be Finn’s folks…hmmmmmmmm

Open Cricket Tournament

The Open Cricket Tournament was held at Bobby T's on Sunday, Sept. 24. I think everyone had a good time. It was a nice spot for a tournament too! I believe the results for the day were:

1st: One Hole Out
2nd: Screaming Eagles
3rd: Young Guns

If I'm wrong someone can correct me. If there were interesting things to post about the event or individual matches, please share! We need to start taking some pictures to post!

League Structure Proposals

I really like your proposal for the administrative structure of our leagues. You've addressed/clarified most of what Lisa M. was proposing, also. Hopefully, there will be enough interest to adequately fill these positions. I, for one, am still interested in the webmaster position, and really like your suggestions for content. Would like to hear other suggestions about content/structure/user-friendly issues, etc.

A couple of questions:

Treasurer—Budweiser Liason
*could you indicate that this is a paid position and how it will be paid for?
*is this the ONLY person with the ability to access/disburse funds? (there seems to be some questions floating around about how our leagues will access any funds placed in our Budweiser account…)

Length of Fall Season

Over the years I have heard many complaints about our fall season being so long. What does everyone think about splitting the fall season into a fall and spring season. I was thinking our fall/spring seasons could be 14 or 16 weeks and the summer season could be 8 weeks.

I know that would make us go through signing up teams twice and we would have to decide how awards would work. Tournaments might have to overlap the starting of the next league.

However, this would allow those that don't want to commit to 6 months to be able to play and it would also allow us to get new comers into the league. Currently if someone asks to get in say in November, the next opportunity they would have would be June.
